Jamie Yang on Google search. When reading this assignment, I thought "Interesting. I'm curious to see how popular my name is online." The first thing listed on the page was “Jamie Yang’s Homes for Sale” website. This was a website made by a Californian real estate agent who also goes by my name. The next thing on the list was a facebook account. I immediately thought that it was my account, but it was another 'Jamie Yang.' Once I got to the page I was not allowed to further stalk this person unless I signed in and added her as a friend. So that was a good thing; it means that security is pretty good and makes it harder for strangers to enter one's page. And then the next popular thing on the list were online resumes on website linkedin.com, which I think is an advantage in advertising yourself to employers outside, however it still is a little risky since it's personal information that's being exposed to the public.
Then out of curiosity, I did a broader search on just "Jamie" itself. I found that the most popular Jamies were Jamie Oliver (TV chef), Jamie Spears (Britney Spear's sister), and Jamie Oliver (cofounder and CEO of EGG-energy business).
Overall, I'd say I was happy that I did not have an appearance in the list. And I was pretty surprised that there were more 'Jamie Yangs' in the world than I had expected. I guess they're just apparently more popular than me online!
