Blog Post #4 - Google Yourself - Mike D.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of sites featuring information about me when I googled my name today. I tried both "Mike" and "Michael," and each showed mostly the same stuff. Only a couple of the links on the first page were actually about me, others just different people with similar names. For the most part, the information that did pertain to me was equally split between old cross country information and old ski racing information. My times from cross country races as far back as 2005 were posted. Another link was to a newsletter put out by a team I used to ski race for when I competed nationally, I thought it was pretty cool my name was still out there on that one. Another link that showed up forced me to literally laugh out loud when I opened it. It was a link to a Facebook picture I uploaded a couple years ago for a contest, needless to say, I ended up winning a pretty nifty prize pack for that photo.

As the results continued, more and more cross country results kept popping up, and even a few charity run results too. I was surprised so much of my running history was online, I was unaware. After a few pages I even stumbled upon a link to our course blog, and my introduction blog. Overall, an eye opening experience :)
