Practicum - John #3

Something interesting finally happened on the Fallout wikia. Apparently, in 1998 following the release of the first Fallout game, a movie based on the game was to be made. Unfortunately, despite interest in the film, the division in charge of it was disbanded in 2000. Recently, a 15-page treatment was unearthed, detailing the plot for the unreleased movie. It's interesting to see how they adapted the large and multifaceted story for the big screen. Since I had free time over Spring Break, I decided to take on one of the projects on the Fallout Wiki. Specifically, the one regarding locations in the game Fallout: New Vegas. I looked up the articles for various locations, and I picked the one with the least information. Then, I set out, in-game, to find it. Luckily, most of the locations had their whereabouts listed on the article already, so finding them wasn't too hard. After getting there, I walked around the area, making notes of structures, or what items or enemies I found. After completing my survey, I pulled up the wiki on my laptop, and set to work categorizing my findings, and linking to the appropriate articles. I was able to play for a couple days during the break, and I averaged about 3 locations per session. Hopefully that's at least made a dent in that project's workload.
