Practicum #6
My hours are now officially up for Second Life, I have completed all 15 and can't really say I've gained too much knowledge from the experience. Knowledge about the program, yes, knowledge about valuable information from the "friends" i met.... not so much. It seemed like every person I tired to "chat" with was just dumb. I know that seems blunt and honest but there people were just strange. Now who am I to judge via internet chatting? Well I dunno, considering the only two girls I really got to be Second Life friends with turned out to be nut cases. One slapping my butt and the other ranting about how I attend a joke of a University. Overall I sort of liked having a secret identity online, yes they see my avatar but they have no idea who I am. I'm not going to lie I made some conversations pretty interesting myself and am probably the "weird" Second Life user to them. It still sucks that I really didn't dig deep into the virtual world of the game, I never got a job or figured out how to earn money to buy stuff. The only really interesting thing I did was change my outfits and have weird conversations with other users. I know I have one post after this so will again head back onto the game for one last go, but I am happy I was assigned to this program. As I said in an earlier post, or maybe I didn't I forget? I had heard of this game years ago by my hair stylist. She was 23 and met a senior in high school, chatting on second life turned into video chats and phone calls. And the next thing you know she is flying up to Canada to meet up with this kid to go to his senior prom. Crazy how things like that work out. Nothing to interesting happened on my last adventure. No one chatted with me, the places I teleported to were pretty deserted. So that is all for now, hopefully I will have one last crazy fight to tell you about on my final post. Goot bi.
