Practicum - Jamie (Blog #6: Tween/Kid Audiences)
I have bee
n on Supersecret lately, working on aging my avatar. The other day I just got my first pet bunny! So that was pretty exciting. As you can see, in the game, one of your tasks is to also take care of your pet. It gets hungry and desires attention as any real pet would. So I bought my pet some food and snacks. And what I find quite absurd and interesting is that you can buy your pet some 'love' and that's the way to give your pet affection. So I also bought my bunny some 'super love'; you are given three choices: little love, more love, and super love.
Recently I have been doing a lot of tasks for other people for more age points and money. This was my list of people that I needed to help on one of the days I was playing. Next to it is the list now... I did a lot of these, but I found them boring very quickly, because they were too easy, which makes sense, because it's a kid's online game. The tasks ranged from things such as bring this item to this other person, bring back three specific items, beat me on this game, etc. They became very easy and repetitious for a while, so I got bored quickly.
I was anticipating my growth so I could grow and open up more options which can only be open once you age, but I was hugely disappointed after I was told that I needed to be a member. And to be a member, you have to bay $6.95 monthly or pay $29.95 for the year. Soon after I quickly lost interest in completing more tasks. One of the things that kept me playing were the games. I found some of the games to be very addicting. They were easy and simple games, sort of like Plants vs. Aliens, but they keep you playing. So I was playing Avalancher and was so into it that I have been named the "new king of the eskimos!" Quite a thing to be proud about! :) ... I found it quite funny when this popped up!
