I'm as far along with my research as I can possibly be at this point, my powerpoint is all set up for the presentation today, and I just decided to add one more critical part to the discussion. I have a roommate who embodies exactly what it is to be a political activist, and he just so happens to have a direct affiliation with one of the websites I was researching. Since I've been following his every move during this whole protest situation up at the capitol, I decided to include him as the portion where I immerse myself into the sphere of political activism. With this in mind, and knowing that I have certain biases of my own, I'm interested to find out what all of your opinions are on the ethics behind a situation like this. As I've said before, I tend to lean more to the left when it comes to politics, but I'm also pretty moderate. The guy that I've decided to profile is basically as conservative as a person could be, so you can imagine that there have been some obstacles for me to overcome in my pursuit of neutrality.
So my questions to you guys are these:
- How do you feel about the ways in which each side of the argument is able to "skew" different opinions and polls in order to favor their specific side?
- Is there such thing as a moderate political activist?
- Do you think that there are ethics issues being violated in the realm of cyber political activism
